Elysium Depths emerges from a deep attachment to the sea and a desire to withdraw temporarily from life on land. The work considers how, under reduced visibility, the seabed begins to resemble terrestrial landscape. As the ocean floor appears like wasteland and sediment like dust, the familiar boundary between sea and land becomes increasingly unstable.
